1. PAYMENT TERMS
Payments are accepted by Interac e-Transfer or cash.
Lessons must be paid for in advance, in blocks of at least four (4) lessons, whether the student has selected a program (ADoRe, A, Do or Re) or the pay-as-you-go option. Full payment may also be made in a single instalment upon signing the contract, at the student’s discretion or, in the case of a minor, at the discretion of their parent or legal guardian.
2. CANCELLATION, RESCHEDULING AND LATENESS POLICY
Any request to cancel or reschedule a lesson must be communicated to ADoRe Academy at least six (6) hours before the scheduled lesson time, by phone, text message or email. ADoRe Academy agrees to provide the same advance notice when it needs to reschedule a lesson, except in unforeseen circumstances.
Any lesson cancelled or rescheduled by the student with less than six (6) hours’ notice may be considered a completed lesson and charged at the regular rate, at ADoRe Academy’s discretion.
If a student arrives late, the lesson may be shortened accordingly, without extending the scheduled end time. This policy applies to both thirty-minute (30-minute) and one-hour (1-hour) lessons.
3. PROGRAM TERMINATION
The student or, in the case of a minor, their parent or legal guardian may terminate the selected program by providing ADoRe Academy with at least one (1) week’s written notice.
In the event of termination, lessons already provided under the selected program will be recalculated using the rates in effect at the time the contract was signed. The applicable rate will correspond either to the pay-as-you-go option or to the next lower-tier program corresponding to the number of lessons already provided, in accordance with the terms of the selected program.
The recalculated cost will then be deducted from the total amount paid. Any remaining credit balance will be refunded to the student or their parent or legal guardian, as applicable, without administrative fees.
Refund calculation example:
Selected program: Program A (12 lessons)
Total program cost: $600
Total amount paid: $600
Number of lessons already provided: 8
À la carte rate applicable at the time of signing the contract: $60 per one-hour lesson
Calculation:
Cost of lessons provided at the à la carte rate: 8 × $60 = $480.
Refund amount: $600 − $480 = $120.
Total refund: $120.
Refunds are calculated based on the number of lessons actually provided and the applicable rate specified in the contract, in accordance with the terms outlined above.
4. RULES AND PROCEDURES
To encourage consistent progress and ensure a positive learning experience, each student is expected to follow these guidelines:
Punctuality: Arrive on time and be ready to begin the lesson at the start of the scheduled time slot.
Learning materials: Bring all sheet music, books and other materials requested by the teacher to each lesson.
Home practice: Practise regularly between lessons to reinforce learning and support steady progress.
Assignments: Complete all exercises and assignments before the next lesson.
Cancellations and rescheduling: Provide at least six (6) hours’ notice for any cancellation or rescheduling request.
Respect: Treat the teacher, premises, instruments and all equipment provided with respect.
Online lessons: Have a stable Internet connection, a functional instrument and a quiet environment suitable for lessons.
The cooperation of the student and, where applicable, their parent or legal guardian contributes directly to the quality of the learning experience and the achievement of educational goals.
